Abstract
India has been trying to establish itself as a manufacturing hub and as a key player in global supply chains. However, higher logistics costs in India are a matter of concern in attaining high manufacturing growth and a deterring factor to become a hub of global supply chain. Handful of studies tried to quantify the same in India at a macro level, no study yes on measuring logistics costs for activities export consignments undergoes within ports, be it land, sea or air. The current paper has tried to understand the logistics related issues within 22 ports (including land, sea and air) and ranked them. This paper will help port authorities, policy makers as well as exporters community apart from research fraternity to the logistics issues within port in a transparent manner as well as will help in decision making.
